Family Ocean Adventure

Fun for the whole family!

This small group family activity focuses on paddleboarding and ocean literacy. We’ll be searching for sea stars, otters, and giant moon snails with a marine biologist, then stopping for a picnic lunch (bring your own) on the beach. Suitable for ages 8 and up. 

​

May see: Otters, eagles, sea stars, jellyfish, crabs, seals and other fascinating marine life and if really lucky - sea lions and porpoises.

​

BRING: A lunch and picnic blanket or towel, water, sunscreen, hat, suitable paddling attire, water shoes.

​

WHAT'S INCLUDED

  • Certified SUP guide

  • All gear - PFD's, boards, paddles and safety gear

  • Marine biologist led interpretive paddle through Tod Inlet.

WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED

  • Travel to and from the tour start/end locations 

  • Lunch - please bring lunch & a picnic blanket or towel to sit on

  • Personal paddle clothing

Is this Paddle Right for You?

This is a beginner, family-friendly paddle.

 

  • Must be comfortable around water and ideally able to swim

  • This is a close-to-shore, shallow water paddle so we can search for sea stars, crabs and other marine life.

Logistics

Location:

  • Meet by the washrooms at the public kayak launch found between Brentwood Lodge and the BC ferry dock:  819 Verdier Avenue, Brentwood Bay, BC

  • Please arrive 15 minutes before

The paddle location may change if weather conditions require it. You will be emailed or called at least 2 hours prior if this happens.
