Pacific Rim National Park Reserve is an outstanding region in Western Canada showcasing the Pacific Coast Mountains, rugged coasts and temperate rainforests. This area is the traditional territory of the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation of the Nuu-chah-nulth peoples. Today there is an interesting blend of Indigenous culture, surfer vibes and posh tastes.

Explore Tofino British Columbia deeply...

Locals call Tofino, Tough City, but Tofino can be a pretty soft landing spot. Best known for surfing, there’s a yin and yang quality to the SUP action. There are calm seas on the inland side, and the challenge of Surf SUP and riding swells at Long and Chesterman beaches on the sea side.

Our main SUP experiences are paddling Clayoquot Sound and learning to SUP surf. Our expert SUP and surf instructors can take you from the basics right up to intermediate SUP surf techniques in this two-hour lesson. Catch a wave, and there will be no turning back! Learn ocean and wave safety, equipment orientation, etiquette on the water, how to catch waves, basic surf moves and much more.

After the exhilarating surf action, enjoy the calm waters and history of Clayoquot Sound. We will be looking for Harbour Seals, Black Bears, Bald Eagles and various other forms of wildlife that out populate humans in this area.

Don’t let the laid-back ambience of the surf society fool you, there’s plenty of upscale dining when the sun goes down. Places such as Shelter, Sobo, Wolf in the Fog and The Point are all acclaimed and close behind are spots such as The Great Room at Long Beach Lodge, The Schooner and Kuma Tofino. Not forgetting the smaller but still vibrant places like The Shed.

Although the scenery, food and wine are some of the best, your lasting impression will be the sea and the way it sweeps down on you. You will feel like you are on the edge of the world here at Canada’s most westerly point. You may end up feeling small and will likely revel in the awe of the ocean’s majesty.
