This paddleboard program is perfect for those looking to start their paddleboarding journey in a safe and supportive environment. you will get an introduction to the basics of Stand Up Paddleboarding with an emphasis on safety, skills and fun.
We will cover a lot of helpful paddling skills so you can confidently go out on your own like;

Lifting and carrying a board

Choosing and holding a paddle
-
Mounting a board at a beach or dock
-
Prone paddling
-
Paddling while kneeling and standing up
-
Paddling in a straight line
-
Forward stroke
-
Braking stroke
-
Sweep strokes
-
Paddling in windy or turbulent conditions
We're all about fun but safety is number one!! We will also cover Safety Skills such as;

Safety equipment needed
-
Falling off safely
-
Remounting the board
-
Use of a leash
-
Understanding weather and paddling conditions

WHAT’S INCLUDED
-
3 hours of instruction with Paddle Canada Instructor
-
SUP board, leash, paddle, PFD
-
Use of a small dry bag for clothes and phone if needed
-
Paddle Canada certification (if successfully attained)

WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED

Travel to and from the start/end locations (participants must arrange their own pickup and drop off as we are not providing shared driving arrangements at this time)

Travel Insurance (if applicable)

Personal clothing, water, snacks
Let us know If you would like to complete the Paddle Canada certification.
You will learn more about Board design and outfitting, Clothing, Paddles, Injury prevention, Equipment care, SUP resources, how to transport a SUP and SUP heritage at your own pace and upon successful completion of the homework, you will receive the Paddle Canada Basic SUP Skills award!

Please arrive 15 minutes prior so we can start on time.

12 pm taking out at our launch location.

Is this Course Right for You?
This is a beginner-friendly course. For you to be as successful as possible, you would already be;
